San Antonio River Walk

After our visit to the Alamo, we headed into the Hyatt and followed this little canal and waterworks down to the San Antonio River Walk.  What a lovely job they have done of having restaurants and cafes and hotels bordering on the San Antonio River.  It looked like a little canal and was absolutely beautiful.

The hotels were beautiful with their European looking balconies overlooking the river.

An amazing number of bridges so that if you saw something on the other side, it wasn't going to be out of the way to get over to.  There were water taxis and water cruises with tour directors giving you all the history of the river and San Antonio.

There were also lots of little and unique elevators for people who couldn't do the stairs or moms and dads with strollers.

This is actually a theatre, how fun would it be to sit across the river watching the performers.  I bet the acoustics are great.

After our walk, we stopped for a lovely lunch.  There is something for everyone, British and Irish pubs, Mexican and Texmex food and fine dining.  What a lovely day and we were back on the road by 4 pm, allowing us to watch the beautiful sunset in the rearview mirror.
